Terms & Conditions

All bookings are subject to the acceptance of the terms and conditions;

A 50% refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking and on receipt of a completed booking form.

Final payment, 50% is due 4 weeks before the first day of the booking. Failure to make final payment will result in forfeiture of the deposit. If you make a booking within 8 weeks of your arrival date, payment is required in full.

We would recommend that you take out adequate holiday insurance that will recompence you if unforseen circumstances mean that you have to cancel your booking.

Cancellation by Us of Bookings

• Should it become necessary for us to cancel a booking, we will contact you immediately.
• Any payments made will be refunded in full and we will do our best to help you find alternative accommodation in the local area.
• Our liability will not extend beyond these conditions.

Breakages and Damage

A refundable security deposit of £200 per gite will be payable 10 weeks before arrival and we reserve the right to make deductions from the deposit to cover major breakages or excessive cleaning costs. The deposit will be returned with 14 days of departure, via bank transfer.

We reserve the right to charge extra if the damage is excessive. All invoices must be paid within 5 days or we may take legal action.

Should you damage or break anything would you please report it immediately so that we can act quickly.

Cancellation Due To Covid-19 for Direct Bookings

DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC ALL BOOKINGS ARE SUBJECT TO TEMPORARILY REVISED TERMS AND CONDITIONS.

In the event of cancellation due to government travel bans imposed by either your country of residence or France, the following will apply;

1. We will refund your Booking Deposit if you have to cancel up to 10 weeks before your arrival.
2. If you have to cancel within 10 weeks of your arrival date, we will offer you the choice of rescheduling your booking, or if this is not possible we will issue a voucher to the value of all monies already paid, to be redeemed within 12 months of the original start date of your booking. (If your chosen dates are moved from low to high season, payment of the difference will be required to secure your booking. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund the difference if your stay moves from high to low season), ALTERNATIVELY, If we are able to re-let the property, we will refund your payment in full, less any expense or loss incurred by us.

Should you decide not to travel, for any reasons other than a government travel ban in place either in France or your country of residence, then our normal cancellation terms and conditions apply.

The above applies to cancellation by either you or us.

Tourist Tax

We are required by the French government to charge a Tourist tax for all adults that stay, per night, at Les Chevilloux. This is subject to change and to be confirmed for 2024 it is calculated and added to your final balance. We then pay it to the Tourist Office.

Arrival and Departure – Friday to Friday

Check-in is available from 3pm on the day of arrival and we ask that the Gite is vacated by 10am on the day of departure. The hosts are resident on the site and will greet you and give you a key to the gite. Car Parking is available for all guests within designated areas. We try to keep the front gate shut for the safety of any young children and our dog.

Pool – Open from May – September

The pool is available to all guests from 9am to 9pm, Please do not apply fake tan or excessive suncreams as these might stain the pool liner. There is also a hot tub which is available for our guests within the pool area.

You are welcome to take drinks into the pool area but please ensure that you only use plastic glasses.

Childrens Play area

This is a fun, safe area designed solely for children but your children are your responsibily and must be accompanied at all times.

Nut Allergy

Your accommodation will be thoroughly cleaned before you arrive. We pay special attention to the food preparation areas in the kitchen. However, we cannot absolutely guarantee the absence of certain food groups (including nuts and gluten) from our food or kitchen and therefore accept no responsibily for any allergic reaction by any of your party.

Liability

We take no responsibility for damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions during your stay.

Pets

Pets are not allowed, except by prior arrangement, at Les Chevilloux , we have our own friendly, dog called ‘Freddie’.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted in any of the buildings or by the pool in Les Chevilloux complex. This includes vaping and pipe smoking. Please use the private area attached to your gite and make sure that cigarette butts are disposed of carefully.

Personal Data

We hold on record any data gathered during the booking process. This will be used only by us to email you in the future. If you would prefer to be taken off our database please let us know.

Force Majeure

Les Chevilloux shall not be in breach of this Agreement if it does not provide the services under this Agreement and it shall be entitled to cancel a booking if it is no longer able to provide the accommodation, due to one or more of the following circumstances: 

• Les Chevilloux is closed due to fire, alteration, redecoration or national emergency by order of any public authority or any reason beyond our control.
• There is a failure to supply the property with gas, electricity or water outside of our control.
• Fire, lightning, explosion, riot or civil commotion, malicious damage, storm, tempest, flood, burst pipes, earthquakes, or impact resulting in Les Chevilloux being unable to provide the booked accommodation.
• If any one of the above events occur, Les Chevilloux will do its best to avoid any inconvenience and will return any payments made.

Description of the Property and Accuracy

Whilst we make every effort to ensure that our website, online listings and any advertising material is accurate at the time of publishing, we cannot be held responsible for changes or circumstances outside of our control. All information concerning the property whether given verbally or in writing by us, has been given in good faith but any such representations written or verbal do not form part of the contract.

We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. You acknowledge and agree that all intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, copyrights (including rights in software), trademarks, database rights, patents and inventions) in and relating to the service are owned by us and our licensors or contractors. Nothing in this agreement operates to transfer any such intellectual property rights to you. 

We reserve the right to assign or sub-contract any of our rights and obligations under this agreement to our employees or representatives, without giving notice to you. If any provision of this agreement is found to be unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the other provisions shall nevertheless remain in full force and effect.
